Day 4 of the dealer having my Trac. They told me the rattling/clicking/ticking noise was from the bearings in the transfer case. Actually, I've had to call them every time since Tuesday. They are supposedly in contact with Ford to find out what they need to do -- just install new bearings, or replace the whole transfer case. Obviously whatever saves them the most $$$ since it is under warranty.
Service guy said it wouldn't be done either way until next Tues/Wed. Sucks, because I am going camping, and I'd rather be camping with my Trac than my loaner (Chevy Malibu Maxx) -- wow!
Will update if this actually fixes the problem (if anyone else is having the same problem) . . .
