non waterproof compartments in bed?

Ok, so I see the warning that the compartments are not water tight. With the rubber gasket under the lid, I dont see why it would leak.....but it does! Also, the forward rear door in the bed that has a tiny strut, does that hold the door open? cuz it doesnt. Thanks!

It should hold it open. It's probably just a dead strut.

They are mostly watertight. The warning is just a CYA from Ford so you can't bitch about it if something inside gets wet. I've never had water get inside them. The strut on my forward compartment still works. Try Auto Zone or NAPA before you go to a dealer for that part, it will cost more at the dealer.
