I came home from work last night to find my baby girl passed away. She was a young 9 yr old (German) German Shepherd in excellent health. She always seemed sad since her 9 yr old brother passed away 9 months ago (I hate the number 9 now). But I gave her plenty of love and affection and she had the best of everything.

It was so hard to have to close her eyes and cover her with a sheet not knowing what happened. Then having to take her to the vet...it was a horrible night for me. I lost my only 2 kids in less than a year.

I had the vet do an autopsy and she passed from a ruptured splenic mass. In just one day of talking about this with my friends, family and 2 vets I heard of several dogs unexpectedly passing away from this. I question why this is not something that is checked for once dogs get into there senior years...

My baby girl is now in heaven with her little brother fighting over bones and chasing squirrels. Rest in peace, daddy misses you both with all his heart. Abbi- April 1, 2003 - April 23, 2012; Dino- May 24, 2002 - July 3, 2011.

Our animals are our kids toooo. We had Timmy for 17 years, 9 months and 4 days. (Rose's poodle) and Sammy for 3 years, 4 months, 14 days. "TT" had to be put down after having broken his back falling into a drained pool. He had cataract surgery done on both eyes and cancer in his mouth and no control over body functions. Rose's boy was pretty sick when the time came. Sammy was a happy go lucky (fat) poodle but he loved ME. Always in my lap. He had a heart attack due to diabetic complications and Crohn's disease. We miss our boys so much. We had them cremated and they watch over us from their urns on the shelf of the tv stand.

Rainbow Bridge Poem

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this special place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing.

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !

The nose twitches !

The ears are up !

The eyes are staring !

And this one suddenly runs from the group !

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

I had Aggie, my last Golden, cremated and her ashes in a beautiful box beside the fireplace where she died 9 years ago. Think I'm about to cry.....Bob

Time will heal. Be comforted knowing that you gave them the best possible care and love.

There is rarely a day passes that I don't miss my Chelsea. She too was such a special friend to me. I have had dogs pretty much all my life but she was very special to me. Odd how an animal can wiggle its way into your heart.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am not sure about people heaven, but if there is one I will only go there if Chelsea is there too.
