I ordered the Magnaflow exhaust from EE after much searching and price comparing. I get this e-mail from them today:

"Thank you for your order. Unfortunately part number CX15696 has increased in price from $374.95

to $399.95. The shipping weight is incorrect on our web site. The true weight is 70lb not 10lb

so the shipping cost will be $45.00. The grand total will be $444.95. We will need your permission

for the price increase. Also our credit card company is requesting that we provide the three digit security code on the back of your credit card which my web site shopping cart does not prompt for. We will wait for your reply before processing your order. If you have any questions please call 707-254-7025"

I think this is totally unfair and they should honor the price listed. And the price is still not corrected on their website. Can they do this?

Legally, if they haven't charged your card yet, I think they can do that. Ethically, they shoudln't do that. Espically considering the website isn't fixed. Makes me wonder how long they've known about the wrong price and haven't changed it. You could be the first, or the 10th person, just hard to say.

just go to your local performance aftermarket place. You should be able to match or even beat that price easily. I got my Magnaflow almost 4 years ago from my local shop, great price and a cheap install too.

Apparantly so Cory. It seems since the management overhaul over at EE a few months ago thier customer service has taken a complete nose dive.

I would kindly ask them to honor their mistake and give it to you at the web price, Or you just take your business somewhere else...

They still advertise the Pro -M MAF unit on the site, and Pro_M is out of business...

The only place in my direct area that sells Magnaflow is a little pricey. I already have a place that can install it for me and got a price quote. I can get the exact exhaust from TruckAddOns.com for the same price EE now wants (actually a dollar less). I think I'll tell EE to shove it and make the point by simply taking my business elsewhere.

I'm just irritated because I have been hearing all this good stuff about EE. Being a site sponsor, I ordered this with confidence and I definately didn't expect this.

I'm not defending EE, but a lot of companies (including some big ones) are pretty slack about updating the info on their websites. Usually because they don't have any in-house people who do it so somebody has to think to contact their website manager and also pay them money.

As long as EE has been a sponsor I would hope they would honor their initial deal. I can see where the freight is an honest mistake. Not that I would like it, but I could understand it.

What they do may make a HUGE difference on future sales thru this site.

I think that they are supposed to be revamping their site, they have a banner on the home page which says to call for price and availability before ordering on the site. They did this to me a while back when I ordered my plug wires.

Although it has been a year, small businesses can't update web pages as fast as your larger e-commerce sites. They may not even be able to until they get an IT guy, or get a new one since they may have fired the IT guy to stay in business.

Same thing happened to me when I bought the Mac intake system from them. It's still listed with the wrong price months later. Got the same email asking for more money.

You guys make it sound so hard for 1 little person to change a simple price it is not so hard all you gotta do is go in and CHANGE IT! no IT guy needed or some "special person" its so simple its retarded.

 I think I see the ghost of Dale Earnhardt in the background......it could just be my eyes playing tricks tho.

Assuming this was on the site when I ordered, I guess I just overlooked it. I've been to that site a thousand times, so when I finally get to order something instead of just drool over it online, I just went directly to the order page.

I still think that in the time they spent to have that made and posted, they could have simply changed their prices. It's bordering on deception.

I ordered the Magnaflow exhaust but they called me instead of e-mailing me. The price went up but oh well.

Or, just remove ALL prices from the web page and replace with a "Please Call for Current Pricing" note. Sure, you might lose a few orders because of the 'hassle', but how many will you lose by having to send an email asking if it's OK to charge more? And how many future customers you might lose from unhappy customers ranting about the bad prices.

So I'll admit that it is partially my fault..but they just lost one customer regardless.

Fast Eddie, I took your advice and found it on FullLineExhaust.com for $399.86 and free shipping. They are located in my region (southeastern US).

AutoAnything.com also has it for 399.87 plus free shipping.

Thanks guys.
