Any Eastern Ohio and Western PA members have probably visited Deer Park as kids or with their own kids. It's a very inexpensive family getaway. Sort of a mini-zoo. Lots of hands- on animals to feed like goats, camels, and deer. There are also monkeys, bears, lions, kangaroos, etc. The kids can get pony rides, and there's a train through the zebra habitat. Really nice place. Been there for over 50 years. My mom went when she was young, I went as a kid, and now we take our sons every summer. The husband and wife who owned and operated the park died in a car crash in Kinsman, OH yesterday. I don't know what this means for the future of our beloved Deer Park, but I feel so sad for the family, friends, and co-workers...heck, I'm even sad for the animals.
