Aloha folks, I have a small spot of oil under the truck (2002 4.0 V6). You folks have said not to use additives! There are 1K miles before the next change, I want to add 1/2 quart of some sealer to the oil the last 500 miles to save the carport floor. Also a little to the control arm bushings. What are your thoughts if any? Otherwise, I'll just do it.
Thanks God bless Ed

Cardboard under the truck.

i have used it back in the day, stp stop leak. not sure if they still make it. had no problems with engine just did not work for a rear main seal leak.

I have used ATP# AT-205 ReSeal, but haven't been able to get it in a year+ due to Covid.
Had a small drip from the RearMainSeal that did go away after a couple of treatments,
but think drip was just as much due to a bad PCVValve that I also replaced,
causing slightly high CrankCase pressure.
So not sure which fixed the leak, but the ATP stuff didn't do any damage either?

NOOOOOOO all they do is swell the rubber and it never goes back..... Try and find the leak to fix.

You might be right Todd. I will look to see how much it's leaking.
