Hey guys. Just about to do an oil change on the truck. No clue how much oil I need lol. Last time (If I remember right) The mechanic used just a tad under 5L of oil. But I'd like to double check with you guys first. Oh and whats the part number for the filter as well if anyone has it. Thanks in advance guys.

You will need about 4.75 liters (5.0 US quarts) for the change. The OEM (Motorcraft) oil filter number is FL-820S. The filter size is quite common to Ford vehicles, you should not have trouble finding it cross referenced to many different brands. Many Ford owners prefer the Motorcraft brand, if available. I buy mine at Wal-mart.

I agree. At WalMart I get a 5L jug of Motorcraft 5w20 (I know, I know, it says 5w30, but I use 5w20 semi-syn in the winter and 15w40 in the summer) and a Motorcraft filter. Cheap cheap.

I went ahead and put a Fumoto drain valve on, and it is the best. Saves time and saves the pan from stripped threads. The last time I had the dealer change the oil in my wifes Accord, I swear they put the plug on with an impact wrench! It took a 1/2 breaker bar and a hammer to get it loose. The crush washer was sure crushed. Nothing beats the piece of mind of doing it yourself.

Thanks for the info guys. I got the filter from my brother and just wanted to make sure he gave me the right one.

STanner, If I had one I would have looked it up.....reason for asking here, where I knew I would get the correct answers :haveabeer:

Thanks again guys.
