I found this web page a few months back, I had cut a few filters Motorcraft filters apart. Still looks like the recommendations are valid. I usually buy the motorcraft filter unless I get the oil and K&N or Mobile 1 filter on sale at one of the parts outlets. At the next OCI I'm going to cut my K&N apart to compare it to the motorcraft filter.
