Ok, I know opinions are like A**holes, everyone has them. I just got a new computer and the photo editing software on it is pretty weak. No cloneing tools or any of the bells and whistles. I'm looking for a moderate editing software. Nothing like Adobe that cost $599. That is way past my needs. I need one with a good clone tool and red eye reduction. I had one on my old computer till the dumb a** at the computer place did a complete wipe of my system that even took the windows off the hard drive since he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Needless to say, I think it was a Broderbund program, but not sure. Thank for all replies ahead of time.;)

How about Paint Shop Pro. Its pretty fully featured and I believe it costs only about $100.

The good ol' GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is free, runs on almost all operating systems known to man and is a great alternative to Photoshop.

Photoshop is the "king" of the photo editors. There's regular photoshop and photoshop elements (which is a bit cheaper).

It really comes down to what you want, and what you can afford. Both will do what you want.

Photoshop Elements (under $100) is a cut back version of Photoshop, and one of the best editing programs. I've been using it for years and have "tweaked" literally hundreds of images with it.

Your new computer if Windows based should have come with Adobe Photoshop Elements pre installed. As stated above one of if not the best photo editing software there is. The only thing it is missing from a full version of Photoshop is stuff you will never use unless you are doing some professional serious editing.

I'm with Allen and Me. Adobe Elements will do anything a non-professional needs to do. You can buy Elements 2, which I have, for $20 on fleabay or spring for the newest version (which really isn't any different).

I don't own Photoshop Elements - I have Paint Shop Pro. Both are great programs, but you will find more support online for Photoshop Elements. They are both about the same price ($100 or less).
