Does anyone here own one? Do you like it, dislike it?

My wife and I are narrowing down our 7 passenger, AWD crossover SUV list.

Thanks,

TJR

My wife and I went to take a look at the Tribeca late last year. We are also looking for a crossover SUV with 3rd row. Since we already had the WRX, I figured another Subaru would be worth a close look.

My opinion was that the Tribeca has a very nice interior, but the flat 6 didn't have as much power as I'd like. I wish Subaru would've put in the 2.5L Turbo instead. The styling for the nose killed it for my wife. She was really put off by the look if it. The 2008's should look better though...

UGLY.

Could you imagine being seen driving that thing? I would kill myself. I rate that right up there with the Pontiac Aztek.

My neighbors have one, and I agree with the rest... How could you be seen driving one? That thing is friggin' UGLY!!! The looks alone would turn me off, even if it got 100 miles a gallon.

Actually, I don't think any of the Subarus are that appealing, but the looks didn't bother me much. You guys are all pretty shallow when it comes to your cars. ;)

If you need cars that look that great it makes me wonder what y'all are compensating for. ;)

We don't have good taste. We just taste good!

B9 looks okay to me (as with others Subs) even the interior. Never driven or sat in one though. The only bad things I've read about it are it's relatively small cargo space and, surprise surprise, it's unique looks inside and out. I think they're giving it a more traditional grill for 08 (more Chrysler-esque) if that means anything to you.

Flipper is right. The 2008 Tribeca has a more traditional front. I never cared for their styling on the previous editions. The interior, however, is quite nice.

I test drove and narrowed my pick down to the Volvo XC90 and the Land Rover LR3.

I was impressed with the Land Rover's option and interior fit, but the XC90 is nice with its safety standards.

I drove a B9 when I was getting rid of my wrx . . almost got it too . .just a bit high for what I wanted to stay under. I like the styling . .distinctive . .

Hey... I had to drive a 1976 AMC Pacer as a teenager. I REFUSE to drive another 'ugly' car again during this lifetime! So yes, I'm as picky with my vehicles as I am with my women... which is why I'm single, I guess!

As far as compensating... I need a good looking car to compensate for my ugliness!!!

I just sat in a Volvo XC90. If we were to lease, which is an option, that might be in our range. The one I sat in had a $47K sticker...nice.

Still need to look at the Vera Cruz. Our options are dwindling.

My wife and I looked at Tribecas last spring when we we bought her the RAV4. I liked them but the RAV with the V6 is much faster and gets better gas mileage.

My boss's wife had one when it came out and she got into a really bad accident and she was fine. Her car was totalled and they gave her another one. She is happy with it since the accident. It was a front end collision. I was about to get a Subaru WRX turbo wagon. Boy that thing moves out. I had to step away from it. I know i would get some speeding tickets with that.

You may look at the Mazda 5. I saw one when I bought my Mazda 3 and they look nice. Mazdas usually have good acceleration and handling as well as being a good value for your money.
