I've changed the front disk pads on our 2001 Chrysler minivan a couple of timesl; easy like the ST front pads, with the caliper swung up and out of the way.
The rear disk brakes are turning out to be another matter. The rear brakes are a disk/drum setup, withthe drum providing the emergency brake functuion. I'm only replacing the disk pads.
The caliper is centered at the top fo the wheel, and is not bolted on. Instead, it moves on two pins that are press fit into the back of the brake/wheel assembly. After replacing the pads, I cannot figure a way to get the caliper back onto the pins at the same time getting the caliper over the new pads. It looks like the guide pins need to be replaced at the same time, but I'm not sure. The caliper has rubber bushing inserts in the guide pin holes.
Anybody with experience on these types of disk brakes? Comments greatly apprecaited.
