OT: Landscaping Question (Shrubs/Bushes)

I live in NY so I need something that can take cold and snow. I have 3 potted small Christmas tree type trees in pots. The pots are about 20" tall and 18" wide at the top. Does anyone know of another type of small tree or bush that can be planted in a pot this size permanently, and stay out in the winter. Something small that won't grow more than about 2 feet or something I can trim? I know it would have to be some type of evergreen but what are the types. Maybe something a little nicer looking than a regular tree.

there are a lot of type of box wood shubs... just go to your local garden store and ask...



you have to consider zones also.. there are shrubs here in NJ that will not live though the NY weather
