What gets me about the whole "World Jump Day" is that they are trying to changed the orbit of the earth. Making the orbit farther from the sun would make a year longer, the climate cooler (colder winters and cooler summers) and put us in the projected path of space debris.

Let's see.... 600,000,000 people jumping on the earth? The earth weighs in at 5.972 sextillion tons (that's 5.972 followed by 18 zeros). If the average person weighs in at 180 lbs, 600m people weigh in at 50,000,000 metric tons. A mere .0000000000008372%.... that's like an ant trying to push a Hummer.... it just aint going to happen.



If a massive asteroid hit can't change the orbit, how are mere humans going to do it?



Besides, who says that if they were to succeed, that it would not cause catastrophy? They want to move it slightly, but what happens if instead of a foot (or whatever) they move it three feet? 9 feet??
