STUDY HAUL: The U.S. Department of Defense commissions so many studies,the Pentagon is "awash in taskings for reports and studies," saidDefense Secretary Robert Gates. Therefore, in 2010 he demanded -- yes -- a study to figure out how much all those studies cost. After twoyears of work the final tally still isn't in, so Congress has (sureenough!) asked the Government Accountability Office to study whetherthe Pentagon's study was truly effective. The GAO found the Pentagonhad only studied nine studies in that two years, and their "approach isnot fully consistent with relevant cost estimating best practices andcost accounting standards," for instance by not including the cost ofmanpower in their reports. (RC/ABC News) ...But they're not going tochange anything until they get the results of a new study.

While we are at it have you ever asked yourself. Why every politician stands up and says if we don't do this we will have to cut Firefighters, Police and School Teachers. I'm looking for one to stand up and say if we don't do this we are going to have to cut Politicians, Lawyers, and Committees.

Redfish, you nailed it. They always threaten to cut food to the children, or have to close the hospitals for disabled folks, or stop all aide to blind people, lay off teachers or police, etc. They never cut their PORK, or their own salaries, or their SUV's, taxpayer-paid world-wide trips, or lay of their own bloated staff. :smack:



Our government is BROKE. A revolution is going to be needed to give it the enema that it so badly needs. :fire:
