Outside mirrors won't work

Had the same thing happen on my '02. If your ST is a Gen 1 ('05 and earlier) then open the driverside door and where it hinges there should be a black boot covering wires.

Move the boot to expose the wires and check them. On my ST it was a pinched wire, pale orange/tan with a black stripe running down the middle of it. Repaired the pinched wire and the mirrors started working again.

On my driver side door I have a round plastic box with a 1 1/2 in. hose connected to the bottom being held on by a plastic zip tie clamp.I don't think I can get the hose off with out breaking the clamp . The round black box has (what look like a 3/8 bolt head. )on the top. am I looking at the right thing.

thomas, I cant fing it in my ford manuals. Imo, the zip tie is cut. And then the 3/8 head bolt jacks the harness apart.

I need to tear into mine. I have a broken wire for the door locks. I have already tested the switch.

Have you tested the mirror switch? Too much armorall messes with them. Also most car washes tend to push the mirrors beyond motor control. I have push them back by hand, then the motor works again.

If you look in them you cant see any thing ????:bwahaha:

Could not resist...

Thomas, yes it is the "round black box" -- you can cut the zip-tie and then just use a zip-tie to replace it. Once you cut the zip-tie slip the hose/boot off it and you will see the wires. Like I stated prior, on my ST it was a pinched wire that was covered by that hose/boot.

It was/is a pale orange/tan with a black stripe running down the middle of it. Repaired the pinched wire and the mirrors started working again.
