Does any one know of a way to proctect the front of my truck against bugs or how to get them off easy. I looked at the 3m bug film shield but it's close to $200. i was thinking of something less permanent that i could put a different film on each week or every other day instead of scrubing some of my clear off tring to get the bugs off.

Thanks in advance.

I HIGHLY recommend 3M. A month after I bought my ST someone had tried to parallel park in front of me. Unfortunately she cut it too close and scraped her rear quarter on the front of my 07. Thankfully it was not hard enough to break the plastic or the clips holding the front bumper in place but it sure could have made a mess of the paint. I have 3M on the front of my truck, there was no paint damage at all, just had to replace the 3M, you cant tell it happened at all. Not to mention it protects from rock chips and highway bugs. I did my fog & head lights also, just to be safe. Definitely worth he money.

Looks like Armor Coat may be the ultimate paint in protection but it is also not for the average do-it-yourself enthusiast. With a little care and patience most of the folks here could probably install the 3M film themselves. I did it myself when I bought my 2002 Ranger new and it is still on that truck today and it still looks good and there are no chips in the paint. I plan to do my 07 ST before winter. Rob (Seattle Sport Trac) at www.webextremes.com was offering a discount to forum members. I'm sure he will chime in on this one. :D;)

I think a little clarification needs to be addressed.

Bugs are going to get on anything you have on the front of the ST or not. If your trying to prevent rock chips in the paint then paint protection film is far the best over a bra or bug shield. However it's also the most expensive of them.

Armor Coat is NOT for the (DIY) do-it yourself person. And, it doesn't come off that easy. The dealers here in Seattle started using it and most of them hate it. Expensive, makes a mess, have to be a paint expert to spray it and most are not going to pay the price for it.

The paint protection films that you see all over the internet are either 3M films or Avery films. I've used 3M on our track and race cars. XPEL is one of the largest dealers for 3M that I'm a vendor for and they sponsor Koni Challenge and Rolex series races. Those yellow lights are 3M film and most run the clear on the nose of the car.

Is it DIY? If you can easily install vinyl graphics then yes it is. Some say it's hard some don't. But, I've seen people that can't even change a tire so it's irrelevant...LOL

The material is thick enough if you have an issue you can peel it up without ruining the film and install it again.

I had it on the ST and our BMW. Both showed no road rash or paint chips where it was installed. Plus, you can't see it unless you look for it. Otherwise, it's not visible to unless your a foot away from the car looking for it.

Yes, I offer discounts to members here. Below is the link. Email me for pricing as I'm not allowed to advertise discounted prices on the web site.
