Just received my PowerSlot rotors (from eBay) and they appear to be roughly painted white. Looks like an initial coat of primer. The paperwork says "ready to install".

What is this paint ? My neighbor seems to think it could be a coating to prevent rust when shipped by boat or near a coast line; where the air contains a lot of salt. They were shipped from California to Florida and they are made in Canada.

Also, they recommend semi-metallic pads with those. Any advise on pads for slotted rotors (not drilled) ?

Most likly they do have a protective coating..I would get a couple of cans of brake cleaner and wash and wipe the pad mating surface..I would use their recomended pad or carbon metalics...

Steph, if you haven't already gotten the pads yet, I bought a set of slotted and drilled rotors and had the semimetallic on and had alot of brake dust after a few miles. I went and got ceramic pads and my tires still look good after a long time inbetween washes. You may want to go with ceramics due to that fact.;)
