Does anyone else get as much enjoyment from Pandora as I do? Its one of those free things that are so great that I feel compelled to buy a year membership to support their efforts.

Listening to the String Cheese Incident station right now. Maybe George Strait in a little while, maybe Mofro, who knows, but its never bad music when it seems to know exactly what you want to listen to next.

It's pretty cool, I stayed away from that sort of thing for a while after LastFM let me down, but with the app on my phone, it's pretty spiffy.

The six skips per hour annoy me, though I find the occasional ad (which all seem to be for 5 Hour Energy) pretty funny. I hear there's a 40 hour limit, but I haven't hit it. I tried using an FM transmitter with my phone & Pandora, but it was a failure.

I wish there were better ways to specify what you liked, rather than a simple "Yes/No" per band/song. For instance, I tell Pandora I like a particular band, but this band has the peculiar trait of being far better live than in-studio. If I flag the studio stuff as "no", then I get nothing...yet marking "yes" to it gives me both studio & live :(

Also, Pandora is starting to give me a lot of the same songs.

I know sooo many people that use it and love it... Business to personal...

Yes, I really like Pandora.

If I could find an affordable "smart phone" with an affordable service plan, I would get one so I could use it in the car.

Never tried slacker. LastFm was a big disappointment.

Mixing artists into one station usually gives me the best results. I've hit the 40 hour mark a couple times, but usually right at the end of a month. I agree about the yes/no thing. If you mark a band 3 times as a no, they will never play that band again.

Try only liking the live songs and see if that doesn't help clean up the selection. A great amount of what I listen to is live performances and I generally don't like the studio stuff those bands put out.

My current favorite station is a combination station with the String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, Bela Fleck, and Bob Marley. Most of these performers are far and away better live than anything they've ever done in a studio and this station produces mostly live performances. Bela Fleck is amazing no matter what setting he works in.

What are some favorite stations y'all like? I have an extremely broad taste in music, as long as it reflects some sort of musicianship.

The nice part about the pay version of slacker is it allows station caching, so you can listen to music without data service. I've been using both data and cached stations a lot on this epic road trip I'm on currently.

Working from home the Pandora limit was hit WAY too often, but now that I decided to pay it wouldn't have been an issue. Slacker had the better app, pandora I think has a better music library but I'm not totally sure on that. The one thing I did notice about pandora was that when I searched for a specific song I could normally get it to play whereas with slacker it didn't always play right away.
