Hello All,

Both of my parents are retiring in the next couple of months and I dont know what to do for them. What have you done? Trips? Etc.? I am an only child so its up to me, want to make it special but dont have a clue. Please give me your thoughts? Thanks Marsha

Took my mom in (parents divorced) and gave her a 1/2 house sized apartment....

Golf lessons. Or buy them a cruise. My dad keeps retiring and then keeps going back to work, I guess I'm not a good source of info.

Set up a real nice dinner party, someplace they have never been. Have friends and other family waiting there, as a suprise...

We had a dinner at a really nice place for my Dad. He was a 2nd generation Coal/Oil burner Mechanic. I had a very old black & white picture of him as a teenager, his brother and his father standing in front of his fathers Coal truck and a newer picture of one of his Oil Trucks. I had then blown up and printed onto T-shirts and we had then on display. His partners really got a kick out of the shirts.

Try to find something like that specific as a keep sake.

Same with Bill E here... why do something? My folks retired, bought a RV, take cruises, go to Europe. I think offering to watch their house and pets is payment enough.

I would also suggest a cruise if they would enjoy that. Gave my parents one on Royal Caribbean 2 years ago and they keep reminding me how great it was.......

OK, bad pun time.

If they are re-tiring I would get them 4 new tires. (insert cheesy rimshot)

Thank you and good night, I will be in the boom-boom room aaallllll weekend long.
