Parking Brake

Anyone know how hard it is to tighten the parking brake cable?? I have a 02 and the pedal is pretty mushy when I set it. It nearly gos to the floorboard..

It's possible that there is cable stretch and it needs to be tightened, but I suspect that a manual adjustment of the rear brakes would cure this (and get better braking too).

I agree, adjust the rear shoes first, it will more than likely solve the issue. As the pads wear fluid fills the void / space equal to the amount of the pad that has worn away. This is not the case for the brake cable. It must travel a further distance to do the same job.



Soo, if you adjust the shoes out to where they belong, the cable then travels a shorter distance to do the same job...
