passenger front doorlock sticks in locked position

When I unlock my '01 ST with the remote or driver side door switch, the passenger front door lock rod doesn't raise up enough to unlock the door. Has anybody had this happen to them and what did they do?

sounds like the actuator is locking up. best thing to do is buy a 2 wire actuator wether it be stock or not and replace it and use existing wires.

OR....the rivet broke that holds the assembly in place. When the rivet breaks the entire assembly moves up and down but does not raise the lock button.

Mine did this exact thing a couple of months ago. I could see the rivet broken at the bottom of the door. If yours is broken you will have to take inside panel off. The best way is to replace with a bolt, lock washer, and nut. The rivet is the hardest part to get out.

Mine is being caused by a broken lock spring. you may want to look at the door locks that work and see if the springs are in good shape.

I opened the passenger door and saw the empty hole where the rivet used to be. I checked the driver's door just to be sure.
