Well I bought the tires I asked about last week. Despite the tread blocks. The tire is a highway/all terain. It is quiet and rides good on the highway.

The problem is they damaged all four of my rims. It appears they thought the tires mount from the rear. They dont. The machine clamps gouged and scratched the face of the rims. There are also scratches in areas of the clear coat, that was just sloppy handling.

Pep-boys dont let you in the garage like dicount tire does. I should have stoped the whole purchase when, the guy asked me. where are the jack points. He was puting the lift under the rocker panel. Then got mad at me for stoping him. I guess he didnt know the difference in the rocker panel vs the frame.

I have a claim #. Waiting for there adjuster to call. Gonna be intresting to see what they do about it....

What I get for trying to save $200.

Eddie, Just curious.. We have advertisements for Pep Boys in Kansas City all the time, and I also saw the ad about their tires, but the closest one is in Springfield, MO. (About 150 miles south of here) so its too far to be worth my while just for 2 tires we need on our other vehicle. Anyway, how do their prices compare to O'Rieleys or Autozone?

Dave, I wont recomend them for tires ever, after this.

My pepboys is twice the drive distance for me than AZ, Oriely or Advance. I only bought parts from them, when they are the only one with it. Parts $$ are comparable. Sometimes a little higher.

I couldnt get anyone to match or sell a comparable tire for the price. I suppose the reason was a coupon and 1 tire cost rebate combo.

Mounting tires from the rear???????? Jacking under the rocker panels???????? Where did they find those idiots???

RUN ......... RUN FAR AWAY!!

I tried to find this HT + at the cooper web site and did not find it. Is it a wider tire than the HT ?? Is it rated all terrain as well??

I just found another stupid. The two front tires are mounted with the curb rash protection outward. The two rear have the smooth side out. Also they did not clean for the tape wieghts for balance. They stuck them on top of the dirt. Anyone with any know how, knows they will throw in time.

Jimp, they are not available in all sizes. Mine are 265/60-18. Click on tire sizing and enter your size. It will come up with available tires. Then click on one to see it. You can click on specs from there. The ht+ is XL load. 50 psi max Though there site doesnt say so the ht+ is highway/all terain.

Steve M, I cant run until they make me whole again. Which may not happen.

Never Ever have any work done at Pep Boys, Ever !!! The one by me in the North Hills was replacing rear shocks on a '89 Crown Victoria, Florida car, 20k miles, beautiful car. They couldn't figure out how to get to the top shock bolts so they figured a torch will do it, caught the back half of the car on fire and if I hadn't run in with the fire extinguisher and put it out before it reached the 1/4 tank of gas. Another one for ya, same PB, '77 Ramcharger fuel pump, sending unit. Got it in, guy paid and just made it out of the parking lot when the whole gas tank dropped to the ground. I got alot more but I'll leave it at that. I cal Pep Boys (PepMart), if you want a minifridge, scooter, etc. Go there, if you want auto parts go to Advance, AutoZone, Napa, Carquest, Etc.. Jmo. :toilet:

Eddie:

I was looking to see if they had these in my stock '07 size and I don't see them. Look like great tires. I'll need a new set before winter.

'07 ST

Gary,,,what size comes on your gen2 trac? If you have 18". Maybe one of the 18"s are close to the same diameter.

Though im not an off roader here in SE Texas. And no snow, they are quiet and smooth on the highway. On my gen1. It's pep-boys that screwed up. Time will tell with the tires.

I got them to fix the stupid of the balance weights and having 2 tires turned oposite sidewall out.

The service manager asked me if I should wait until, pep-boys makes a settlement. I said no, I feel this is going to small claims court. He got quiet..LOL
