i just bought a chip and im looking for the ecm. the manual says where its at but i have no clue does anybody kno where exactly its at on an 01 sport trac maybe even have pictures ???

Under the hood, top of the firewall, slightly on the passenger's side. Look for a ton of wires.

Be shure to scrape the connection area real good. There is a coating on the point that the chip plugs into.

I know it is after the fact. You would get better control of the performance with an SCTcalibrator than a chip.

If you choose to do the calibrator instead. You can get one with 3 different tunes from our sponsor. See the link.

I would pick a reflashing device like an SCT ANYDAY over a chip. It's so much easier to install, edit, and uninstall. Not to mention you get way more functions from a flash device.

torries SCT rocks...

i wouldnt waste time with the chip...

Ford/GM/Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep SCT Custom Calibrator

I concur with everyone else. A SCT Xcal 3 with tunes from Torrie is way better than a chip. Not only do you get custom tunes for your Sport Trac, based on its modifications and how you want it to perform, but you also get great continuing customer service and support from Torrie.
