I found these pieces in the transmission filter during a filter and selenoid change. Any idea what the bottom piece is? it is smooth plastic with a slight curve. The top piece appears to be a piece of gasket. Just want make sure it's nothing major before I button it back up.

I think they are parts of a band. This is a 5r55e transmission. There was no slippage before, I drove my father in law 750 miles back to Florida, "his truck". Is the overdrive band separate from the other bands? Free truck is not such a deal if I keep discovering problems. I might pick up a master rebuild kit if it starts slipping. Next up is redoing the headliner.

Guessing here; smaller one part of the Trans filter media?
Need a response from someone who's fully rebuilt a 5r55e; more likely to know what it is.

I found another piece in the drain pan. I saw some other posts with pictures that looked similar. It was part of a band.
