Pioneer Avic-Z1

the Avic-Z1 is out and looks to be a great buy... especially with the Built-in HD. Crutchfield is saying that it won't fit the Sport Trac, because space in the dash is slightly smaller than 4" tall.



Anyone tried installing a 4" tall Double DIN unit with success? Is there a bracket you recommend? Any cutting/plastic work involved?



Know of a location/person in Atl, GA that would install it for a reasonable price?

Look for the install kit for the 95-01 Explorers, which allows a Double-DIN to be placed in the opening. It requires very minor trimming.



I use one to install a Pioneer FH-P404 DD in my old Explorer. The fit and install was perfect, after very minor trimming.
