I am looking to get new tires and wheels for my 2003 ST. I am looking to buy BFGoodrich All-terrain T/A KO tires. Now my truck is all stock no lift or anything and i have 255-70-16 tires and 16x7 wheels. My question is Can I put size 16x8 wheels on instead of the 16x7, and will i have to get different size tires because of the different wheel size. Thank your very much please let me know ASAP.

A wheel size of 8" will not affect that tire size. It will just make it appear slightly larger. Besides, Ford uses an 8" rim for the 255/50-20 tire. So you should be OK. Bob

PS: If you're gonna do both new wheels/tires, why not move up to 17" wheels. I mean, it will look a bit different(sidewall height) but would be pretty sweet! I checked out Rims-n-tires.com and found out you can go to a 17"x8" wheel with 255/65-17" tires and its the exact same rolling diameter as your stock set up. So your speedo and such will not be off. Its just what I would do if I was spending any money

One thing to remember. The oem 16x7 has +12mm offset. You will need to work with that for fitment.

Example; I went from oem 16x7 @ 12mm offset to 18x8.5 @ 0mm offset. That split the extra width. Still under the fenders. I run a 265/60-18 tire. It is the same diameter just wider.
