i have had a popping noise happen 2 times now while turning from one road on a downhill slant onto another that was basically flat... the road looked like this \___ but the downhill is greatly exaggerated... what should i be looking for CV joints, swaybar endlinks/bushings or something else

Travis,

I would check the CV Joints first. Popping and clicking noises, especially on turns while the suspension is flexing up or down is a very common symptom of a bad CV Joint. Look for cracked or torn CV Boots and signs that the grease has leaked or was thrown out by centrifical force as the wheel/axle spins. Usually it's the outside CV Joints that cause the problems, but check both the inner an outer CV Joints.

If the popping is heard when the wheels are turn to the left or right maximum limit when the suspension moves up or down, it could simply be that the steering stops need to be lubricated.

If it's in the suspension/swaybar bushings, often times a bit of silicone spray will quiet them down, unless they need to be replaced, which would give very different symptoms

First thing I would check is the endlinks because of their common failure and ease of replacement. Actually, go ahead and spend $14 and change them anyway.

Or, just remove the swaybar like I did.
