Recently, my TV has developed these wierd horizontal lines that are set somewhat at an angle. They aren't the scan lines, but it looks like a wave, it's one continuous line that runs the width of the tv back and forth, spaced far apart at the bottom and closer together at the top. It's kinda hard to explain. Any idea what they are or how to get rid of them?

BTW, the TV is almost 14 years old, 27" Zenith. Is this just a sign that the TV is ready to go?

Any suggestions for a cheap 27-32" TV, not flat screen or anything special, just enough to watch TV and play some games and what not. We're getting a HD projector to use for movies and stuff, so this is really just to watch TV during the day. Thanks.

Jeff...I bought the 27A24 Toshiba about a year ago, $255 at bestbuy, so far so good...Pleased with the Quality for the money..

Those are called retrace lines. When a gun or all three guns start to wane on emission, the screen drives are turned up, resulting in overdriving any or all guns. Try turning down the red, blue or green screen pots to get rid of them, otherwise, at 14 years old the crt has lived its useful life.
