Hey - ST owners I have a question has anyone noticed that there Driver's side vent does not blow air out like the other vents on the front dash? I took my trac to the dealer this morning to have them to check this out and they told me that "this was normal and they checked other Sport Trac's they are the same". Can some one help me out on this one?

Thanks in advance!

if it's the real small one... i always guessed it was like a return vent in a house.?.?.?

Not the little ones, they are for defrosting, But the drivers dash "register" vent does not move as much air as the others, ALL my fords from mustangs to broncos did that.. I guess it is normal..

If you have occasion to pull the center bezel and register out, you can get a little improvement in the air volume by cutting out the restrictor on the left side.

It helps some but it's not a dramatic improvement.

Yup, my 02 ST and my old 2000 Ranger same thing. It was annoying when it was cold out and I wanted to warm my left hand up and there was no hot air pumping like the other vents. It must be a Ford thing.

Tuck-.,Pretty much the same in my Silverado and Cavalier, also. Same on mine

and my wife's '05 Tracs, too. The blower motor blows air to the center vent stack

and that's where the most airflow will come from. It weakens as it goes further to

outside vents. One way I have overcome this, with noticeable results, is to use

the "thumbwheel" on one of the center vents to close one of them off,

preferrably the passengers side if you are driving, and the only one in the truck.

Also notice the passenger side outer vent has low airflow, too. This is normal.

Another helpful hint, do not close off more than one or maybe two of the other

vents with the thumbwheel, because this may cause your foam rubber seals

between the different plastic air channels, or "plenums", behind the dash to

blow out or leak, causing even less airflow to all of your vents.

Hope this helps...TnB

I get plenty of air from my '04 driver vent. Sometimes I even cut it back. My build date is 11/04.....
