Todd,

A friend of mine told me there is a sensor in the air filter housing that needs cleaning every once in a while. He said when I pull the sensor out to use Q-tips and be careful because there are 2 small wires by the sensor, but cleaning this sensor can improve the idle.

Do you know what this sensor is?

Sounds like they are talking about the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor. Its right behind the air cleaner in the air intake.

MAF sensor.

They sell MAF sensor cleaner spray at parts stores.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TOUCH THE WIRES WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

Spray lightly in there, let it air dry...good to go.

He could be talking about the IAC valve on top of the throttle body. That you can clean with Q-tips and carb spray, lube it up again with 3in1 oil and you're good to go as well. Total time for both of those should be around an hour on a leisurely Sunday afternoon, and I believe there's a project on the IAC cleaning as well.

Well if you were more on top of your game Todd, we wouldn't have had time to answer...you're kinda slacking lately. :D:lol::cool:
