I have a Neighbor Girl that just bought a 2002 Ford F150 SuperCrew. now my question is: she was told that when the F150's reach 100,000 miles that they intend to blow there head gaskets.. the truck had ruffly 93,000. miles on it. it seems to run good.. so i just wanted to see if anyone has any information on this.. any input on this matter would be apprecitated... thank you everyone. ladybug..

My dad never had trouble with his. He ran it forever and traded it in for an '04. When he got rid of his 2000 F-150 it had 180,000 miles on it and he beat the crap out of it too.;)

I had an 02 SCrew, 4.6 that I put some hard FAST miles on. I made several trips from South Texas to South Carolina and speeds of 100+ were common, especially coming home. I have never heard of the head gaskets for that year model. Tritons prior to that had issues with gaskets and spark plugs blowing out of the heads because the taps were too short but fixed by 02. Some common issues with the 02s would be the howling rear axle and 02 sensors going bad around 70,000 miles. Otherwise, one of the better years for the SCrew. I got great fuel mileage from mine as well. Hiway 21+, city 18-19 mpg. I liked it far, far better than my 04 SCrew which is a cheap piece of junk. Not sure if I can buy another F-150 SCrew hence my being here at this forum. Love Ford but HATE the new F-150 in any model.
