I just bought an amp and a box w/a sub in it that mounts under the 60 back seat.

1. If I don't want to run the ground wire all the way back to the battery, where is a good spot to ground it around the back seat?

2. I want to mount my amp under the 40 portion of the back seat. Can I just drill holes right thru the floor and secure it w/screws?

3. I want to keep my factory head unit; thus I will have to use the high level inputs on my amp. How do I connect the current speaker wires to the high level input on my amp?

1. Ground on the bolt that holds the seats in place.

2. Yes, the floor is rubber, with some padding beneath it. Small screws will do fine.

3. Go to Walmart and get a low level converter (sosche brand) for $20. You tap into the factory wires behind the dash, and run RCA wires to the low level input on the amp. You can set the frequency you want to allow on the level converter.

Jeff C,

What kind of screws do I use? Sheet metal?

When I run the RCA cables, is there a way to run them under the rubber floor to the converter?

Also, is this the low level converter that you are talking about? (the one on Walmart's website was for a 4 channel converter. Do you think they carry a 2 channel one like the one in the link?) If so, do you hook up the wires that are attached to the converter (not the RCA ones) to the speaker wires coming out of the head unit?

I just used sheet metal screws, yes.

Run the RCAs along the floor under the plastic trim on the inside edge of the door. It just pulls up.

You can use a 4 channel, just use 2 channels of it, front 2, rear 2, doesn't matter. Yes, attach wires to the wires coming out of the head unit.

Make sure you run the power from the battery down once side of the vehicle and the RCA down the other side. (Power = Drivers Side, RCA = Passengers Side)
