Questions about overhead console??

I tried to remove the overhead console and found it was glued all the way around to the headliner. Is this how it came from the factory?? Before I start pulling at it to remove it to check why it does not work, does anyone have any hints on how to remove it???

No, the console should not be glued to anything. Perhaps there is just a very positive seal and possibly crushed foam/fabric holding it on? There really isn't even a good edge to use to glue the console up there. Careful use of a razor would free it, if that's even needed.

After I break the glue free does it pull straight down???

Do you have a sunroof? Just pull the trim away from the edge and drop the console down at the rear.

I like what you did with your garage door opener. I have my rigged pretty well, but might try what you did.
