I only got 4 of 6, but the two I got wrong were types of cars that I don't care one bit about, so...
I knew the Mustang answer, of course. They used to be built in Ontario, a stone's throw from Detroit, and so were many other American cars. MOF a lot of Americans crossed into Canada to build 'em!
The shameful one was the Chevy pickup. The icon of American jingoism is foreign-made! Snort!
does anyone else notice that even if some of these cars have a final assemply in U.S., both GM and Ford have more U.S. workers than the other one?
On a side bar:
I used to work at a sportings good store and we had a hunting boot that boasted "made in the U.S." on the box. If you read the fine print, it's assembled in the U.S. with foreighn parts. I found out later on the boot uppers and soles are made elsewhere and shipped to an Amercian plant that stitches the uppers and soles together so they can call them made in the U.S. I wonder if the same goes for some of these cars?
I got 6/6 as well! But I should as I spend way too much time studying cars nline:
I did have to think about a few though, namely on the Mustang/Camaro which is embarassing as I'm posting this on a Ford board! I know the old gen Camaros were made in Brampton, Ontario, that's why I guessed GM might still have more non-US involvement in the new model.
