I just developed an annoying rattle which seems to be coming from the drivers door.

almost sounds like the window regulator..but i am totally guessing...it is actually more than a rattle, like a big part vibrating when i hit bumpy roads..sounds like it is toward the front of the drivers door, but it is tough to tell..

let me know if you can help me on this...very annoying as i like driving the truck, but this makes it not so pleasant to drive everyday..

truck ha 151,000 on it.

thanks,

I had an issue with my driver door as well. At first it was a little rattle and then my window would jam either would going up or down. It turned out to be pop rivet for the window track had broke, and it also killed the ground wire for detecting if the door was open or not, so when the key was out of the ignition and the driver door was open the radio would stay on and there would be no alarm if my headlights were on.

How it was fixed was with a drill and a screw because how a rivet was put in there I have no clue let alone know how to get to it. Hope this helps! :haveabeer:

moparmendy......FYI, I too have that rattle, but my window track support bracket (the rivet is inside the door opening just underneath where the door lock engages) popped really loud one day and the rivet actually popped through the metal and it looked as if it had been shot at with a pistol:fire: I went to a window repair shop and he told me it was off track because of that rivet popping loose and hijacking the window guide to make it off track. I need to send a picture of this to FMC so they can see how fragile the metal is. I will try and post a pic of this so everyone can see it and find out if others have had this happen to them

There are 2 mini bolts on the bottom of the door, and where the handle is on the inside of the door, there are 2 mini bolts there 2. (just take a flat head screw driver and give a little pry on the cover). After that, you will pull the controls off of the door (Just pry from the top of the control pad for the bottom you cannot do that). After the switches are unhooked, Start from the bottom of the door and gently pull towards you and fasteners will start to come out, should'nt hurt anything as they are attached to the panel and insert into the door. After that, where the door handles is, there is a thin frame around the handle you can pull that off. Once that is off and the panel is loose, lift up and you should be able to get it off. If not, check that all the fasteners are . If further help is needed, I will post pictures. :haveabeer:
