I had my rear axle seals replaced on my trac.My mechanic put in synthetic oil.I have a 4+4 standard axle.My manual states standard axles get 80w-90 motorcraft premium.axles with trak-lok get synthetic.Should i have him put in the right oil.......P.S. I dont think i have trac-lok..Thanks

Yup,

IT is actually better.....

I would check the door code for the axle code and see if you have the LSD, Because if you do and the friction modifier was not added to the synthetic, it will cause issues...

IF you have the open rear, your 100% fine..

Todd,

what should someone look for on the door sticker to signify they have the LS? Does it actually say Limited Slip on it?

Look on the sticker for these codes..

Axle codes:

46 — 3.73 non-limited slip

42 — 4.10 non-limited slip

D4 — 3.73 limited slip

D2 — 4.10 limited slip
