My left rear tire locks up on me all the time while braking. Replaced rear shoes & resurfaced the drums, checked the wheel cylinder & parking brake cable. Still locks up?!?!?! Anyone have this problem???

Locks up when simply stopping ???

Hitting the brake hard??

When driving???

When using the parking brake ????????

More info please to help you out...

Traditionally, when this happens and there is no clear issue, the wheel cylinder is bad. In the past, on rear drum vehicles I have replaced HUNDREDS in our shop.

Locks up under normal braking. If it is wet or if there is a little sand on the road I barely touch the brakes & it locks up.

I am still going with the wheel cylinder...

For some reason, the rear piston seems to travel out further and locks up the drum...

Don't know why this happens, it just does...

Check both wheel cylinders. The right could be stuck, not engaging the right brake and putting all pressure to the left.
