Hello everyone.

I'm a big Ford guy and have a 99 Expedition with 170k miles and an 03 Cobra with 51k miles. Both vehicles have been really easy to maintain and are very dependable.

I just purchased a 2002 Sportrac for my son's first car. It has 74k miles and seems to be in good condition, but I have some questions.

Where is the best place to purchase a rear bumper cover?

What are the items I should watch out for on this truck for wear and tear?

What are the major mechanical issues I should be aware of?

Also, the stock rims are teardrops which I would like to replace. What are my best options?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Thanks for the link. Seems pretty pricey. Any other sources for the rear bumper cover?

That's about right, used ones on eBay are only about $15-20 cheaper. Try checking around at your local junkyards ut there aren't too many ST's in them unless they are smashed.

Pretty much any rim with a 3.75 to 4 inch backspace that is over 16" will work, only some 15" steelies work like cragar soft 8 or procomp 98.

15 inch rims will also result in cheaper tires but keep in mind I have no idea if a 15 will clear the rear drum brakes and aluminum 15s wont fit at all

Some aluminum ones will. I was assured that my MB Wheels TKOs would fit by dicount tire direct over the phone. I ended up going with the same wheel in 17" though so no confirmation on that.
