Rear sliding window

I'm helping our son look for his second ST and assumed all or most would have the sliding rear window which he uses alot. Anyone know why they seem pretty rare, at least in the '07 / '08 range ?

My 2007 XLT 2WD does not have a sliding rear window. I thought it was phased out in Gen2.

The sliding rear window didn't show up in Gen 2 Tracs until late in the 2007 model year. After that, all 2008-2010 Sport Tracs had this feature.

It was done so ford could get the 5 star roll over rating during design and testing, Then it went in !!!
