Has anyone tried to remove the top seat cover from the front passenger side seat. There is a metal structural wire that has broken free from the rest of the frame. It is moments away from percing the leather.

It seems that I have seen these covers come off like a tight fitting shirt (I said shirt). I found that there is a connection strip (for lack of a better word) along the bottom. Unless someone has a better idea, I going to try the shirt thing, nothing to lose. Does anyone know how to remove the seat back? That would make it easier, I think.

Thanks

Have to remove the covering, The plastic strips pull apart...

To remove the seat back, and yes, it's easier to take the seat apart to remove the covers, you must remove the seats from the vehicle, remove the seat tracks, disconnect the recline lever rod from the seat back, then remove the lumbar connection, then remove the seat back. An electric seat is quite heavy, so be careful handling it, it can be a bit awkward. To remove the actual seat cover, press the two 'J' clips together, a flathead screwdriver can be used here to pry to two clips apart. Then you must remove the heat rest and grommets (you'll have to reach up inside the seat back and press teh sides of the headrest grommet together and pull/push up to remove these), then slide the seat cover off. There will be some velcro like strips holding the seat cover to the underlying foam, just pull to seperate the two peices.

Not lazy just waiting to order my many yards of suede and get a paint booth open.... but i am shaving the tailgate this week or weekend.

"You" or you're having it done? You gonna take the bulge out as well? If not, you should....fill in that ugly Ford oval while you're at it.

I shaved my 'gate maybe two weeks ago...

It looks better now that I put a second coat of primer on it, no staining from the body filer. Be careful to not warp it, I did a lil' around the emblem holes, nothing too bad, but I just felt really dumb for doing it. At least it was me that had to fix it and no anyone else.

I'm gonna work with this guy. He's gonna show me how to and what not. Yeah the bulge and the emblem are coming out.

Use as little amps as possible to get good penetration, but to help curb warping....small tacks and moving the heat around are of course primary. You gonna do the body work too?
