I removed the well-known and problemsome OEM plugs in my 07 SportTrac Limited V8. The Internet and this list have reported the difficulty removing the OEM plugs because of carbon buildup causing the porcelain electrode to break off sometimes leaving it stuck in the cylinder.
I installed the Champion 7982 plug which is highly recommended elsewhere on other Ford listservs. My V8 does not like these Champions and I removed them after 200 miles. It had a rough idle condition. I don't know if the cause was my ECM tunes, my CAI or what. Oh well....
They cost $20 each and I bought 9. If anyone wants to try them I will sell all 9 including shipping within the continental US for $80.
