with a little time to kill yesterday, the wife and i stopped at Riverhead Ford to see if they had any 07 sport tracs. when i walked in on the dealer floor, a sales rep was passing and asked if he could help me. as he was still walking, i asked if he had any 07's and he said NO, i then asked as he is still walking do you have any brochures and once again a big NO !. the next question, will you be getting any in ?, I DON'T KNOW !.

well, Riverhead Ford, i am sorry that i inconvenienced your staff with these annoying questions. i think with declining sales , maybe you could have a better attitude toward a potential buyer.

Gary, Well said! You would think they would learn over the years.

I tell ya FORD needs to take a serious look at the "Dealers Report Card" on this site.

You should post your thoughts there as well. Maybe if we all start doing this, they *FORD* would get a clue on how some of the dealerships are doing business for them.

In the town I live in, the Colorado River Ford of Kingman is awesome, so friendly, they don't mind questions they don't mind folks just looking around. And heck they have taken me to the back lot to look at cool vehicles they had just got in, Like that GT that I posted pics of a few months back knowing full well I was not going to buy it. :)

Makes me feel like they DO want my business. :)

Hey Gary,

I know what you mean with these Long Island dealerships, they make you feel like they are doing you a favor by selling you a truck. I went out of state to buy my truck just because they were willing to work with me on the price and they treated me with a little respect.

By the way, it was good seeing you again last month at the trailer dealership. I ended up putting a deposit on a trailer that day. Take care ( your ST looked real good)

Charlie

Gary, you suck, Did you see the 06 2+2 mustang there??

Todd Z

charlie, same here good seeing you last saturday..good luck with the trailer and let me know when i can borrow it !

todd, i know that i suck and no i didn't notice as i was about to " flip out ".

tjr & tom, your right but i'm not going to bother as if i do get a new one it will be thru my fleet company and i will advise them not to use that dealer.

thanks guy's :)

Only reason I asked, Gary S is because although complaining about the dealer/sales agent here does make you feel good and may keep others from patronizing the dealer, it doesn't really address the problem.

However, you "calling the guy to the carpet", and telling him, "Hey, I know we all have bad days, but DO you want our business or not?", and then addressing issues with the manager if needed just might have:

a) gotten you the service you were looking for,

b) taught the sales guy an important lesson,

c) helped to address bad customer service so others might not have to endure it

As a business owner myself I value that candor in my customers.

OR best yet, don't buy a vehicle from them.

even better: buy it somewhere else then go by this stealership and show it to 'em....

when we bought our E150 conversion van, they wouldn't wiggle on the price. I went to the Dodge dealer and asked to test drive one of theirs overnight. Next morning, on the way to take it back, I drove to the Ford dealer and parked next to the one I wanted as if I was comparing. When my salesman came out, I made sure he saw it was me and then drove off to return the Dodge. My cell phone rang about 3 minutes later.... they came down to my offered price on the van I wanted. I took the Dodge back and bought the Ford. :)
