I did a search on brakes and was surprised I did not see more opions on rotor brands:wacko:

(I also noticed the search only went back thru some time lst year),, but any ways I was wondering if anybody had any brands to pitch. i plan on calling the Napa in the morning to see if they have any. I know there is only one on hand at the local Auto Zone warehouse.

So any ideas ??

check ebay, you can get complete cross/drilled rotors for front and back for under 300.00 with ceramic pads...been pondering on that decision here lately..ebay has lots of options for rotors even replacements.... any other obinions guys?

Cross-drilled rotors are for racing applications, and most of the brands on ebay are cheap knock-offs made in China. I would not use a cross-drilled rotor on a street vehicle, especially ones make in China !! Cross drilled rotors are prone to cracking, should not be turned (that further weakens them, so unless you are prepared to replace them with every brake job or sooner, stick with a quality made slotted rotor and a good ceramic or carbon metalic brake pads.

Rich,

Do you want to recomend a brand of slotted rotor that someone has used on a Sport trac.

I did not see an rotors on the sponcor page??

I noticed that my inside pad wore much faster than the outside one on my front driver side, but nothing seems to be binding. Anyways I have toasted my second set of rotors in just under 100,000 miles.

On a side note, I bought a set of rotors for my Scout II at AZ and they were made in the USA. The sales guys had told me a lot of their rotors came from Isreal and Mexico. I would like to avoid cheap chineto stuff as much as anyone, but I thought it was fare to point out that just because a store might stock some stuff from china that they may also carry others as well.

I am going to call the places on e-bay and ask about the product, they off slotted only for like a $5 charge.. the rotors (of unknown origin) at AZ are $79 each,, and there is only one avialaible localy,, so I may as well shop around.

Thanks for the Help

I found this site that had a page that spoke to some of what Rich posted.

I recommend the Power Slot rotors. I got mine from Autoanything.com, free shipping. Tire Rack and Explorer Express also sell them. Autoanything was cheaper because of no shipping cost. After 3 weeks of use I can say they are worth the money, not much more of an investment than an OEM/stock replacement.
