My truck has a rough idle that I have never been able to get rid of completely! I have done things to improve it but it never eliminated it! I have replaced the plugs and wires (twice), new IAC, new intake gaskets, cleaned throttle body, and used snake oil. Anyone have any ideas on my problem?

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the "cracked elbow". When I replaced the elbow and the idle fell right back into place.

I thought that I would toss that out.

Downs truck is a Job1 Gen 1 I believe, so the elbow is not on his truck...

I am leaning toward the diagnosis of intake manifold gaskets..

The 2001 I have had a similiar problem. Replacement of the intake "O" rings (similiar to a gasket) on the upper and lower manifold cured the problem. Looks like a big job, but at one step at a time not a problem.

The computer will probably show a trouble code of "Lean mixture" on both banks.
