I have a nice 8" Audiobahn sub I had installed in my last truck. Can I replace the existing factory sub in my 2008 Trac with this sub and will it make any difference? I guess I'm asking how good is the factory sub and is it worth upgrading it since I have the other sub already.

I'm not familiar with the gen 2's at all but if it already has an 8" in it I doubt that an Audiobahn is much of an upgrade.

Wattage is only one factor in the whole audio equation also...

Gord, I asked the same question a few days ago at the stereo shop and was told don't bother. It seems that subwoofers require an enclosure with a certian amount of airspace to be effective. He said that customers had come back to get the original sub put back in as it sounded so crappy. Taylor and JD are both correct as far as power supply goes. This is a project that will take some research and a reputable shop to get it right.. Remember, fun costs money, how much fun do you want to have?

yeah same as what JD and Bob said. If i were you i would stick with what you have unless you wanna just go more crazy and get a pair of 15's or somethin. Personally if you have the 8" Audiobahn id stick with stock instead. IMHO

I want to add the factory sub to my 09, do they all have the wiring in place less the sub specific harness that runs to the rear of the truck? I have the AM/FM Single disc stereo, does it even have to capability for the sub? If it doesn't then I'll be running power and speaker input from else where and I'll need to know what wires belong where.
