Will edit this post tomorrow with more details, but my son & I had a great time in Las Vegas. The only thing the we were disappointed in was not being able to see the Caroll Shelby Museum due to there only having tours once a day at 10:30 am Mon. - Fri.
Left Sac. @ about 3 pm last Thurs. & hit our heads on the pillow in Vegas @ about 2:30 am Fri. because of 1-1/2 hr. delay due to road construction between Barstow & Vegas. After getting going on Fri. we went over to the Great Outdoors Bass Pro Shop where we spent 2-1/2 hrs. & had a good barbaqued chicken sandwich (skipped breakfast). After that we went over to LVMS only to find that the Caroll Shelby Museum was closed. Had a great mexican dinner at the Palms that evening. Sat. after having a buffet breakfast on the old Vegas strip we went out to the track & checked out all the vendors. We frose our toushes off watching the Bush 300, took us 2-1/2 hrs. to get back to our motel. Sunday we had a buffet brunch at the NASCAR Cafe in the Sahara before going out for the Busch 400. We learned our lesson from the previous day & parked close to where we were sitting, so it only took us an hr. to get back w/ no waiting in the parking lot. We got Jerry's phone no. from GM & connected up with him at Margurettaville after having dinner @ Bobby Flay's (food TV) Mesa Grill in Ceasors (there were no prices on the menu). The food at the Mesa Grill was outstanding, and I would venture to say that it was the best prepared dinner I have ever had, which was venecin w/ scalloped sweet potatoes. After we got to Margarettaville Jerry took us to show off his new supercharger he had put in his F-150/Lincoln LT. We had a really great time, & it was good seeing GM & friend as well as Jerry & his brothers.
