I thought the same way but listening to commercial free radio on Sirius, coupled with listening to music that I like, has made me a convert. FREE radio can have 22 minutes or so of commercials per hour. I just got sick and tired of changing channels to find a station playing something other than commercials, which was often impossible with 6 presets. Add to this pause, rewind, fast forward, song alert, game alert and uncensored content and the $12.99 a month is well worth it.:D

Goalie: You may think it's well worth it now, but just wait, your going to see more & more commercials on satellite radio, & it will only get worse. You can BET ON IT !!! If you remember that's the very same promise that cable TV gave us 20 years ago & now it's got just as many if not more commercials than FREE broadcast TV has. Just keep on paying out those $$$$ & you'll see....

DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT pay a lifetime subscribtion to Sirius radio. Yes it sounds great but you can only change the radio or sirius unit ONCE during that subscription. Yes once....It seems they expect their products to last a lifetime. Read the fine print before you choose the lifetime subscription....I almost fell for it! Now I just pay once a year....

Martin: All of the music stations on Sirius are commercial free. Once they add commercials I will just cancel my subscription.

If you are on lifetime you can transfer your subscription up to three times for a fee.

"Subscribe for the lifetime of your radio! Pay ONLY $499.99 once and forget about bills. Plus, act soon and you can transfer your lifetime subscription to a different SIRIUS Receiver when you upgrade or replace your radio — up to three times — for only $75 per radio. Offer ends July 31, 2006. Hurry!"

There is a Margaretaville station.
