Well I maybe very close to a V8 awd sport trac... but I have one very persistent "non-passive" problem;)... PATS (passive anti theft system). My question is this.. Via SCT or any other programmer could one disable Pats from a ford vehicle. More specifically a vehicle equipped with PATS type B from a 2000 explorer V8 PCM?

Thankyou guys for all your help. I will post Pics soon... If it all actually works. with this pats problem I am dead in the water.

-Don D. hopefully soon to be mean green

I dont see why you could not bypass it with some fancy wiring..... Maybe modify a Remote start module ???

Dont know about the SCT thing, But I dont think it can..

How about a Locksmith that can install ignition locks on fords ???

I'm pretty sure Torrie has said that PATS can be disabled in the tunes that he writes. Try emailing him directly or calling him.

I can not start the car for the "first time" with out getting the pats module and my new pcm paired since they came from two different cars and I will have to take it to the dealer. I do not know what the dealer will charge or if they will be difficult.

You could probably override by cutting the module from the circuit and running straight wiring. I believe the module is just one wire in/out to a chip.

That is calibration dependent. What PCM code is it ? Most of the time I can shut PATS off if needed for events like this

Take care,
