SCT XCAL 2

i found a xcal 2 that is programed for a mustang and is locked. model 9415A the programmer is the SF model. anyone know if any sct dealer can unlock it or can i just buy tunes from someone and install them?

It can be unlocked through an SCT dealer (use one of the site sponsors) but it is not free. I think it is $100 or more to unlock it. Unless you are getting the xcal2 for less than $100 I would pass. Look for one that is not VIN locked and then it can just be cleared by you and loaded with new tunes.

If its locked you will pay $175 to unlock the unit. Then pay for custom files to be made for you on top of that.
