I have 3 clips that I want to just take the sound from. Is there a program out there that will do this? I have a Sony digital camera that is able to make motion clips with sound. Any ideas?;)

If the clips are on your pc, you should be able to accomplish this by using a sound recording program, <a href="http://audacity.sourceforge.net/"target=top>audacity</a> is free, pretty easy to use and will acomplish this, setting the input source accordingly( with audacity it should be Microsoft sound mapper - input in the preferences->Audio I/O tab). Click the record button and play the clips. You can also record internet radio this way.

IF they are avi, you can also use nandub. It is free and out on the net I'm sure.

You just load your video file, then under the file tab "save wav"............or something like that...........

cheers,

What's the format of the video?

For mpg/mpeg videos I've used a (free) program called TMPGEnc to multiplex (join) and de-multiplex video and audio, as well as join or edit video clips (MPEG Tools under the File menu). Works great, and oh yeah, it's FREE!

Thanks all. It was taken with my Sony Cybershot camera. MPEG I'm pretty sure. I can watch it in my Media player and the like with no problem. I also have Nero 6 but i have to have a mic to seperate the sound. (evidently) I'll try those sites and see if I can get it seperated. It's a clip of my exhaust.;)
